Today's Experiments

Today we made a water wheel.  We poured water on in close and far above.  Far above made it go the fastest and close went slower.  The water wheel worked, but when we turned in on it's side to try to make a turbine it didn't work.  The water was flowing too fast and just pushed it down and didn't let it spin.  When you blow on the water wheel it only turns a little bit, but it does make a sound.

We also punched three holes in a plastic bottle.  One hole was at the bottom, one was in the middle, one was at the top.  We filled it up with water and then took it out.  The water on the bottom came out the fastest and farthest.  The one in the middle did it medium.  The one on the top didn't really do anything.  The water came out of the bottom hole the fastest because of the enourmous pressure.
